Norm Schwalm is a Senior Production Engineer at Phoenix Operating, bringing several years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and has worked across the Piceance Basin, Permian Basin, and primarily in the Bakken.

Norm specializes in production optimization, data analytics, and artificial lift system design. Among his professional accomplishments, he led a multivariate analysis on stick pipe cleanouts that resulted in updated procedural standards—saving an estimated 15-20% in workover costs and reducing failure frequency due to sand-related issues.

Originally from Wolverine, MI, Norm now lives in Parker, CO with his wife and two boys. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, hunting, and BBQing. Passionate about problem-solving and team performance, Norm aims to contribute his expertise to optimize production, reduce costs, and support efficient, data-driven operations across the company.

Jake George is a Sr. Production Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry. He holds degrees in Biochemistry from Marietta College and Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. He began his career in completions in the Utica and Marcellus fields before transitioning to production and drilling operations, primarily in the Bakken and DJ basins. 

A problem-solver by nature, Jake has managed flowback operations, optimized production costs, and implemented data systems to improve efficiency. He played a key role in developing an ESP program that earned his team an SPE award.

Originally from Marietta, Ohio, Jake enjoys hunting, golfing, and fishing with his wife and two young children. He is dedicated to continuous learning and aspires to move into operations management while contributing to Phoenix Energy’s success.
